Privacy
Please read this in full. It is short, and it says plainly what we collect, why, who handles it, and what you can ask us to do.
Who we are
semii.ai is operated by Emotion Machine, Inc., a company incorporated in the United States. This page describes what we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, who processes it for us, and what you can ask us to do about it. Questions and requests go to ege@emotionmachine.ai. This page took effect on 14 October 2026.
Reading without an account
You can read the board, the forecasts, the track record and the methodology without an account. When you do, our hosting provider receives your IP address and browser details in order to deliver the pages, and keeps standard server logs for a short time. Our analytics records that a page was viewed and which part of the site it belonged to — the board, the track record, a document — so we can see what is read. It does not send the page address or where you came from, sets no cookies, builds no profile of you, and honours your browser's Do Not Track setting. The random identifier it uses lives in your browser's session storage and is gone when you close the tab; the events already sent stay with our analytics provider under that identifier, never linked to you.
Traffic analysis
Between 8 and 14 October 2026 we used a lightweight script to tell human visitors apart from automated and AI-agent traffic. It recorded browser characteristics and interaction timing (pointer movement, clicks, scrolling and keystroke timing — never what you type), plus network metadata such as the network operator, approximate location (country) and browser TLS characteristics, and it kept a random session identifier in your browser's storage. It never recorded page content or form values, and it sent nothing if your browser sent Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. The script no longer runs on semii.ai. The records it collected are held by the traffic-analysis provider at tin.computer for up to 180 days from collection and are then deleted; nothing has been sent to it since. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes the session identifier.
Your account
To ask questions or subscribe, you sign in with your email address and a code sent to it; there is no password. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, which stores your email address, when you signed in, and the technical details needed to keep you signed in, using a strictly necessary cookie. We store your account identifier and your access tier. We do not send marketing email. From using semii.ai you receive sign-in codes from Clerk, receipts and payment notices from Stripe, and, rarely, a notice from us about a change to prices or to these pages.
Questions you ask
When you ask a question, its text and the records from our published index needed to answer it are sent to OpenAI, which generates the answer; the draft is then checked with Anthropic. We use both through their business APIs, which do not train on this data. We ask OpenAI not to store the request, and both providers may keep logs for up to thirty days to monitor abuse, under their own policies. We store your conversations so you can return to them. Ninety days after its last message a conversation is closed to everyone, including you, and erased in the next daily clean-up; deleting your account closes all of yours at once, and they are erased the same way. We do not read your conversations except to investigate a fault or abuse that you report or that our systems flag, and we never use them to train anything.
Payments
Subscriptions are billed by Stripe. You enter your card on Stripe's own checkout page, and the card number never reaches our servers. From Stripe we read what your account page shows — the card's brand and last four digits, your subscription status and its renewal date — and we store your Stripe customer identifier and, if you delete your account while Pro is active, a note of the refund we owe you until it is paid. Stripe sends receipts.
Who handles your data for us
Vercel hosts the site, in the United States and on its global network. PlanetScale hosts our database in the United States. Clerk handles sign-in. Stripe handles payments. OpenAI and Anthropic generate and check answers. PostHog processes analytics in the United States. Cloudflare delivers Pro files. Each acts only on our instructions under a contract, and we do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone else. Between 8 and 14 October 2026 the traffic-analysis provider at tin.computer also received the data described under Traffic analysis and still holds those records. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, your data is transferred to the United States under the data-processing terms these providers offer, including the standard contractual clauses.
What you can ask us
You can see what we hold about you, correct it, receive a copy, or have it deleted. Deleting your account from the account page removes your conversations and your access at once. A small content-free accounting record — your account identifier and the times and costs of your requests — is kept for up to thirty days, so that a deleted account cannot be recreated to reset its limits and so that our provider bills can be reconciled; then it goes too. Clerk and Stripe handle their own records under their policies, and Stripe keeps payment records for as long as tax law requires. For anything else, including rights you have where you live that are not named here, write to ege@emotionmachine.ai and we will answer within thirty days. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
How long we keep things
Conversations: closed ninety days after their last message, or when you delete them, and erased in the next daily clean-up. Account identifier and tier: while your account exists, then up to thirty days of content-free accounting. Billing records: at Stripe, for as long as tax law requires. A refund note after deleting a paid account: until the refund is paid. Server logs: briefly, at the hosting provider. Analytics events: at PostHog, under a random per-session identifier that is never linked to you; we use them only as counts. Traffic-analysis records from 8 to 14 October 2026: at the provider named above, up to 180 days from collection. Database backups: kept by our database provider for recovery, expiring on its schedule.
Children
semii.ai is for adults. It is not directed at anyone under eighteen, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will delete it.
